Job Title: Senior Estimator

Orion Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in managing the estimation process from start to finish on a wide range of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor services, and overheads.
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and other documents to assess the project scope.
  • Conduct take-offs and quantity surveys from drawings to calculate materials and labor costs.
  • Prepare comprehensive bids and tender submissions within the required deadlines.
  • Identify potential cost risks, opportunities for savings, and any financial impacts that could affect project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that estimates are aligned with budgets and cost control measures.
  • Provide value engineering solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather project information and clarify requirements.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing and terms.
  • Prepare and present detailed estimates and tender packages to clients and senior management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial, residential, civil, and other project types.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex).
