Job Title: Intermediate Construction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited. As an Intermediate Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for both new builds and renovations, ensuring projects are cost-effective and align with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for ICI construction projects, including new builds and renovations.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately assess materials, labor, and time requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to refine estimates and ensure accurate bids.
  • Review and interpret tenders and project documents to assess scope and pricing strategies.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluate project conditions as necessary to ensure thorough estimates.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data for accurate future estimations.
  • Manage the bid submission process, ensuring all deadlines are met and bids are competitive.
  • Prepare value engineering options and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to discuss project estimates and ensure alignment with expectations.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on ICI (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial) projects.
  • Strong understanding of both new build and renovation project requirements.
  • Familiarity with construction estimation software and proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant programs.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction best practices in Ontario.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all estimations and documentation.
