Transport Planner

At DNA Recruitment Solutions, we are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client's team in Immingham. The ideal candidate will be driven and ambitious, with excellent organisational skills and a background in liquid logistics planning and fleet management.
The Role- Manage driver hours and route optimisation to ensure efficient transportation operations
- Plan all vehicle routes cost effectively, taking into account factors such as fuel efficiency and driver productivity
- Provide excellent customer service levels, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Stay up to date with all relevant legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Ensure sufficient resource availability, including drivers, vehicles, and trailers
- Liaise with third-party contractors and suppliers to maintain smooth operations
- Complete and process relevant documentation and drivers' paperwork, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Respond to telephone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
- Keep customers informed of delays or issues, providing regular updates and solutions
- Transport Manager CPC or the desire to work towards it would be beneficial for this role
- Knowledge of planning systems and processes, including route optimisation and fleet management
- Experience in a similar role with planning and fleet management, preferably in liquid, bulk, or chemical logistics
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with various stakeholders
- Able to work under pressure and to time-critical deadlines, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects
- Strong IT skills, comfortable using MS packages, particularly Excel and Word
- Able to multitask and prioritise without compromising results, seeking continual improvement
- Experience in third-party logistics and service partners, with a strong understanding of the industry
