Job Title: Trainee Parenting Practitioner

Family Action is seeking a Trainee Parenting Practitioner to join our team. As a Trainee Parenting Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies with Children and Young People while gaining valuable work experience in therapeutic supportive services for parents and carers with children.

About the Role

This full-time programme provides health and social care professionals the opportunity to complete high-quality training in the key skills required to be an evidence-based practitioner working in Parenting (PT), completing the CYP Evidence-Based Training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Incredible Years group delivery and individual home coach training to parents of children under 5.
  • Participate in model-specific supervision in Incredible Years.
  • Attend PT skills-based workshops and evidence-based theory and literature relating to supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children between the ages of 3 and 10 years old and their parents/carers.
Requirements
  • Two years post-qualification in a core profession as defined by the BABCP (e.g. Health Visitors, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, etc).
  • OR a minimum of 4 years' experience of working with children, young people, and families (including parenting work).
