Family Action is seeking a Trainee Parenting Practitioner to join our team. As a Trainee Parenting Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies with Children and Young People: Parent Training Pathway, while gaining valuable work experience in therapeutic supportive services for parents and carers with children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Incredible Years group delivery and individual home coach training to parents of children under 5.
  • Participate in model-specific supervision in Incredible Years.
  • Attend PT skills-based workshops and evidence-based theory and literature relating to supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children between the ages of 3 and 10 years old and their parents/carers.
Requirements
  • Two years post-qualification in a core profession as defined by the BABCP (e.g. Health Visitors, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, etc).
  • Membership of the BABCP.
  • A relevant Honours Degree graded at 2.2 or above.
  • The ability to start the training programme from January 2025 and to commit to the full 12 months of training and clinical work.
  • A driving license, with access to a car and car insurance for commuting (or willing to use public transport).
