Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our enthusiastic and committed team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy, ensuring all staff adhere to it.
  • Oversee the identification and assessment of students with SEND, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Create and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff on effective teaching strategies for students with SEND.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, external agencies, and the local authority to support students with SEND effectively.
  • Regularly review the progress of students with SEND, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure academic and personal progress.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant postgraduate qualification in SEND.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all students.
