About the JobThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Road Surfacing Operative to join our friendly Surfacing team working on the Surfacing business unit at Tarmac Trading Limited. The role is based in our Tarmac Boroughbridge Depot, and you will be required to travel across the assigned region depending on current works requirements.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within a similar environment as an operative or labourer. You should possess good communication skills and have a real desire to develop both operative and supervisory skills.
You will work directly with the Surfacing Foreperson/Supervisor to ensure all objectives and targets are achieved, leading to the successful overall delivery of the project.
Main Responsibilities- Reporting directly to the Surfacing Foreperson/Supervisor, you will work on day-to-day operations alongside the Surfacing team to ensure customers receive high-quality material and operations meet planned project targets.
- Operating surfacing plant on site.
- Assisting the Foreperson/Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets.
- Following SHE policies and procedures.
- Maintaining plant conformity with safety requirements at all times.
- Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality responsibilities.
- Inspecting plant and taking remedial action on defects.
- Ensuring plant availability is maximised.
- Keeping housekeeping around the site to a high standard.
- CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Manual handling.
