About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Comprehensive Stroke Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our stroke service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing in-patient and out-patient care for patients referred with suspected stroke or TIA
  • Contributing to the provision of a 24-hour acute stroke specialist service, including thrombolysis and other specialist treatments
  • Participating in clinical and service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care
  • Contributing to the management of the clinical service and service development
  • Advancing the Unit's research programme

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine who has:

  • Full GMC registration and experience in the management of stroke patients
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining a CCST in General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients
  • IT skills and computer literacy
  • Independent thrombolysis practitioner
