About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Governance Clerk to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a Governance Clerk, you will provide administrative support to school governing boards, ensuring that they operate effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to school governing boards, including preparing agendas, minutes, and other documents.
  • Attend governing body meetings and take accurate minutes.
  • Advise governing bodies on governance legislation and procedural matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of governing body memberships and terms of office.
  • Support governors with recruitment and training.
  • Ensure that governing bodies comply with regulations regarding appointments and resignations.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of governance procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work with databases and spreadsheets.
