As a key member of our Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to grow up with healthy minds, feel confident and resilient, and fulfill their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one wellbeing sessions and therapeutic group work to children and young people, focusing on emotional literacy and emotional regulation.
  • Develop and maintain safe and trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their emotional needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive support to children and young people, addressing their emotional challenges and promoting their overall wellbeing.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective support plans to meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and issues impacting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, ensuring your practice remains informed and effective.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and teachers, to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to meeting the needs of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes, ensuring the highest standards of record-keeping and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in delivering direct emotional support to children and young people, either one-to-one or in a group setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, including the role of the family in supporting emotional wellbeing.
  • Understanding of emotional challenges and their impact on children and young people's lives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexibly, adapting to the needs of children and young people, and delivering support via multiple methods (face-to-face, telephone, or video call).
  • Experience in case management and the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes.
