We are seeking a qualified nurse or midwife to join our team as a Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Health Visiting.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salaried position with a competitive salary, commensurate with their experience, in the range of £28,000 - £34,000 per annum.

About the Role

This is a fully funded one-year academic course at the University of Greenwich, comprising 50% academic and 50% clinical placement. The role involves working towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register/recordable for Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN).

Main Duties

The main duties of the job include:

  • Working towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register/recordable for SCPHN
  • Providing a learning environment that enables the student to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies to take on the role of a qualified SCPHN within a defined pathway
  • Gaining knowledge, skills, and competencies required to exercise higher levels of judgment, discretion, and decision-making in clinical care focusing on four broad areas: Clinical Practice, Community Engagement, Clinical Practice Development, and Leadership in Clinical Practice
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A current NMC registration for nursing and midwifery
  • Literacy and numeracy skills at level 1-2 for numeracy (equivalent of GCSE) and level 3-4 for literacy (equivalent of A level)
