Seeking a full-time Fixed Term Consultant Medical Oncologist with a specialist interest in Breast Tumours. The ideal candidate will join the current team of 11 Clinical Oncology Consultants and 4 Medical Oncology Consultants.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary serves a population of approximately 620,000 and is located at the Foresterhill site, home to the University of Aberdeen Medical School.

The dedicated Oncology Inpatient Unit opened in 2013 and comprises 29 beds. A new Outpatient and Day Therapy facility, with a state-of-the-art Aseptic Unit, the ANCHOR centre, is due to open soon.

We are looking for an experienced professional who has evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.

About this role:

  • This is a fixed term position for 11 months
  • The post holder will take part in the on-call rota for the Adult Oncology service
  • The successful candidate will have a major interest in Breast Tumours and will develop the service within the context of the current interests of the department

Requirements:

  • Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview

Salary Range: £90,000 - £110,000 per annum
