Rochester, Medway, United Kingdom Ntrinsic Consulting Full time
Job Title: Field Projects Engineer

Frequent visits to our office in Rochester are required during the initial training period. Following this, your home location can be based anywhere in the UK, but you must be willing and able to frequently travel excessive distances to various remote sites across the UK, including onshore and offshore works.

We are dedicated to delivering sophisticated metering and data acquisition solutions to the power industry. Our comprehensive portfolio includes both hardware and software products, developed in-house or sourced from trusted third-party suppliers. We specialize in tackling complex network solutions, Dynamic System Monitoring, Power Quality, and Generator performance monitoring.

As part of our team, you will undertake and champion the installation and commissioning of high accuracy energy metering systems, typically located in transmission substations owned and operated by our clients, often on an offshore platform. The works and services delivered by this function are associated with new large electrical grid connections, upgrades to existing metering systems, or reactive visits to rectify faults.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leading and delivering on-site installation and commissioning works at customer premises of new metering systems and associated solutions.
  2. Diagnosing electrical/metering/communications faults using portable test equipment.
  3. Ensuring that installed equipment meets health and safety and local safety requirements.
  4. Taking ownership of project documentation to ensure adherence and completion to expected standards (including RAMS, Commissioning, and Site reports).
  5. Supporting and assisting the wider project team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that development, design, construction, testing, and financial targets are met, and effect remedial action where required.
  6. Ensuring that technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project work for safe and successful project implementation.
Requirements:
  • Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required OR a BSc/HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience of electrical instrumentation and control systems (focus on energy metering).
  • Good knowledge of the power industry, high voltage transmission, and distribution networks.
  • Experience in Ethernet connections, programming of switches & routers, for example.
  • Ability to problem-solve and an engineering curiosity mindset.
  • Good computer skills including MS Office suite and project planning software.
  • Full driving license.
  • Relevant training and qualifications (BS 7671 17th/18th Edition Regulations, Full GWO, HUET, Medical and fitness including Chester step) advantageous.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, holiday allowance, pension, and other additional benefits. With this in mind, we have a flexible benefits scheme where you can tailor your benefits package to suit you.
