Native English Speaker Interpreting Position in the UK
2 weeks ago
The estimated salary for this role is £22-£32 per hour, depending on experience.
Language Empire is a well-established company that provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK. We are currently recruiting for native English-speaking interpreters to join our team of freelance translators and interpreters. As a freelancer, you will have the flexibility to choose when and how much you work, making it an ideal opportunity for those looking for a career change or wanting to supplement their income.
The role involves interpreting for individuals using legal, health, and local government services. You will be required to listen carefully, understand the content, and then reproduce it into the target language with 100% accuracy. This may involve checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence and liaising between the service user and service provider.
We are looking for individuals who are fluent in English, have the right to work in the UK, and are aged 21 or over. Formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages are advantageous but not essential.
This is a self-employed position, offering flexible working hours and the ability to work from the comfort of your own home. Once your registration has been approved, you will be contacted for any job opportunities in and around your locality.
