About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team at St Brendans Care Home. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Cook in the preparation of meals and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Cook in the preparation of vegetables and provide support during busy periods.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, including cooker, oven hot plate, Bain Maries, Fridges, and Freezers as per the cleaning schedule.
  • Follow the cleaning schedule directed by the Head Cook.
  • Dispose of waste bags following health & safety and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tea trolleys, trays, and the dishwasher.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
