About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects within Manufacturing, ensuring delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.
  • Manufacturing Process Development: Define manufacturing processes for turbocharger components and assemblies.
  • Documentation and Quality: Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and Instructions.
  • NC Programming: NC programming of multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines.
  • Quality Assurance: Define, perform, and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Procurement and Supply Chain: Procurement of jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and lifting equipment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface with supporting departments such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Cost Reduction: Generate and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Ideally you will be qualified to HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with having undergone relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/ Engineer.
  • Experience: Experience in a modern manufacturing facility with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem solving techniques.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer/ software literate.
