About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bid Estimator to join our team at Galliford Try within our Facilities Management Business.
The successful candidate will be based in or around the Solihull area and will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a tender win strategy for each individual tender.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key supply chain organizations.
- Identifying opportunities for margin growth and analyzing risks to produce a risk register.
- Participating in post-tender interviews, presentations, and negotiations with clients and ensuring a smooth handover to delivery teams.
- Developing innovative approaches to differentiate the bid from competitors.
- Collating targeted feedback on successful projects and providing advice for future tenders.
- Preparing submission documents in line with the bid and corporate requirements.
- Attending tender settlement meetings and ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation.
- Developing standard pricing templates for use in the compilation and review of bid pricing.
- Collaborating with other parts of the company to compile pricing and benchmarking data.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with:
- Extensive experience of estimating from first principles within the Facilities Management market.
- Ability to challenge the bid team constructively.
- Strong commercial acumen and good analytical skills.
- Collaborative attitude.
- Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in risk management techniques.
- High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
- Awareness of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adherence to company health and safety policy and procedures.
- Track record of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Proven estimating experience.
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A member of a relevant Professional Body and/or relevant qualification is desirable, but not essential for this role.
