We are seeking a highly skilled Guidance and Support Specialist to join our team. This is a newly created position at the school, and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of our careers offer.

The working hours are up to 22.5 hours per week (across three days) during term time. You will also be paid for an additional 22.5 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours.

This role will involve working across both of our sites, and therefore a full driving licence or the ability to reliably travel between the two sites is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering our careers offer to ensure it prepares and assists our students to assess their options and transition well into further education, training, or employment
  • Working with students, teachers, and other staff members to provide guidance and support on career choices and pathways
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the National Careers Strategy and implementing best practice in relation to careers and educational advice
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Experience of implementing best practice in relation to careers and educational advice
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the National Careers Strategy
  • A full driving licence or the ability to reliably travel between our two sites
Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for this role is £15,826.13 per annum, rising upon completion of the Level 6 apprenticeship standard. In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including:
