About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our hotel kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen areas, including all working areas, food and beverage crockery, utensils, and serving equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize all hotel crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
  • Ensure that floors, walls, bins, and other areas are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of working areas, adhering to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
  • Report any accidents, near misses, or pest sightings to the senior chef immediately.
  • Assist with the maintenance of fridges and freezers, and report any equipment or chemical shortages to the Back of House Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects are essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in hot environments.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Flexibility on working hours.
  • Can-do attitude and effective communication skills.
