Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
  • Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning.
  • Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher.
  • Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
  • Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
  • A genuine desire to work with children within the education sector.
  • All Teaching Assistants need to be flexible and willing to work with the whole school cohort to support and manage the day-to-day running of the school.
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative, successful Teaching Assistants hit the ground running and can use their own initiative without needing too much guidance to engage with their students.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
