Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

Freightserve is seeking a skilled Warehouse Supervisor to join our team on a permanent late shift basis, working Monday to Friday from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm. The successful candidate will be based in the Heathrow area and will be working for a privately owned Freight Forwarder.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Senior Logistics Manager to achieve optimal individual and team performance through effective application of approved processes and best practices.
  • Ensure the optimal application of standard processes by working closely with the team to maintain compliance with best practices.
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives related to individual employees, teams, or operations, working with staff at all levels.
  • Update the Operations Manager on progress made and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain a culture of compliance within the warehouse, ensuring staff adhere to company rules at all times.
  • Develop expertise on company systems, internal and third-party, and manage training and refreshing for warehouse staff.
  • Ensure staff complete required check sheets on a daily/weekly basis and file them accordingly.
  • Support business growth and retention by ensuring all warehouse functions perform as required.
  • Complete daily reports and follow up as necessary.
  • Manage exception parcels, updating relevant departments in a timely manner and processing parcels once shipping is possible.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-border logistics environment with attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Counterbalance forklift license is desirable.
