Job Description

Purpose

This role is responsible for supporting the business with research, development, implementation, and governance duties across both new and existing product suites, criteria, and supporting materials. The successful candidate will be required to monitor our proposition's competitive position in the market in terms of pricing and criteria on an ongoing basis and against a range of defined lenders, recommending criteria and pricing changes to the Head of Products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the relationship with external third-party intermediary product sourcing and criteria platforms, developing external relationships as necessary to support the product function.
  • Develop and maintain an analysis of market competitors for rates and criteria, working with Marketing to scope and develop changes to marketing material and the website where appropriate around product proposition, and the related rates and criteria.
  • Assist and lead in the launch and withdrawal of new product propositions.
  • Assist and on occasion lead the launch and withdrawal of new and existing products internally and externally, ensuring all parties have the relevant information in a timely manner and appropriate sign-offs and authority to proceed are received.
  • Develop a close working relationship with sales, IT, and operations to determine, broker requirements, and own internal capability with regards to processing and the development and roll-out of new propositions.

  • Managing all key external product and criteria platforms, ensuring effective and timely updates.
  • Coordinating and leading with Marketing to update the website and marketing material.
  • Liaising with sales and operations to understand volumes, capacity issues, broker concerns, and methods to resolve.
  • Providing Daily/Monthly Management Information Insights.
  • Researching Mortgage Lending opportunities to determine whether they are commercially viable.
  • Identification of opportunities or trends and making recommendations to the Head of Product.
  • Monthly Product Target Market Submission Reviews.
  • Completion of the annual product assessments of our Target Market.
  • Supporting the Product Governance Committee.

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Qualifications

Essential

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent market experience.

Desirable

CeMAP.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient across Excel (Advanced) / PowerBI / PowerPoint / Word.
  • Must have excellent organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of the residential, buy-to-let, and specialist markets essential.
  • Good understanding of the broker and intermediary lending channels.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Good Knowledge of Consumer Duty.
  • Awareness of the changes and development in regulation and legislation and their impact on the business, including Anti-Money Laundering, Data Protection Act, Financial Conduct Authority, Consumer Duty.

Experience

  • 3+ years' experience working for a mortgage lender, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Experience working on your own initiative and being able to deal with people at a senior level.
  • Proven track record in project management with the ability to develop and deliver activities against a realistic plan within a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Our offices are located in Guildford. We love hybrid work, but we'd expect you to join us in an office about twice a week.
