Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Hostel Support Specialist to join our team at SPEAR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to hostel residents with complex needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, managing their time effectively to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality support services to Hostel residents in accordance with SPEAR's policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Hostel team to ensure seamless coordination of support services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of work undertaken, including client file notes and log book entries.
  • Engage with clients who are more likely to be seen at night, promoting uptake of meaningful activities as appropriate.
  • Support key workers by providing valuable insights into client needs, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful atmosphere within the Hostel, ensuring all residents feel valued and supported.
  • Maintain a safe and secure physical environment, working closely with the Landlords and Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Manage conflicts or emergencies, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all involved.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including external agencies, to ensure cohesive support services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Benefits include 34 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) increasing with length of service, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, occupational sick pay, and pension scheme enrollment after three months' service.
