Veterinary Nurse

The role of a veterinary nurse is pivotal in delivering exceptional client and patient care. As a key member of the nursing team at Vetisco, you will work closely with the Clinical Nursing Manager to foster a culture of excellence, providing guidance and support to junior staff members.
Main Objectives- Ensure the highest standards of care are consistently met for all patients.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and external contacts.
- Participate in the admission and discharge process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Demonstrate commitment to continued professional development and collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless communication.
- Promote services, employees, and products within and outside the practice.
- Implement practice and group policies, actively participating in the training program for veterinary nurses and animal care assistants.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking general nursing duties, administering treatment as directed, and maintaining accurate records. A competitive salary of approximately £30,000 per annum is on offer, reflecting the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinary surgeons as needed, carrying out specific tasks allocated by the Clinical Nursing Manager or Practice Manager.
- Organize and prepare for patients, providing support during low-staffing periods.
- Administer medication, dispense treatment as instructed, and maintain accurate records.
- Care for in-patients, including pre-op and post-op care, and participate in out-of-hours nursing rota as agreed.
- Support reception duties, reporting on patient progress to clients as necessary, and contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of premises and patient areas.
