About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Chargehand at our household waste recycling centre. As a key member of our operations team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Supervisor in the execution of their daily duties, including health and safety, compliance, and site management.
  • Support the Site Supervisor in the safe and efficient operation of the site, including the segregation of waste and the management of site traffic.
  • Act as the Site Supervisor in their absence, ensuring the smooth operation of the site and the safety of staff and visitors.
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping duties to site equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor waste to determine waste type and quantity, ensuring conformity to centre licence and maintaining centre records as necessary.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to own initiative and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
