Job Title: Trusted Companion for Daily Living

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy individual to join our team as a Personal Support Assistant in Bristol BS16. The successful candidate will work on a weekly 6-hour block from January 2025, assisting with daily living tasks including housework, shopping, caring for cats and plants, and driving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Household tasks: cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking vegetarian meals, household maintenance, and DIY.
  • Animal care: feeding and caring for cats, taking them to the vet, and flea treatment.
  • Mobility assistance: assisting with chair maintenance, occasional wheelchair-pushing, and walking distances up to 8 km in natural environments.
  • Driving: locally and further afield, routine upkeep of van, and occasional overnight trips.

Other duties may arise, including assisting with appointments, meetings, and social activities, as well as supporting family members and enabling activities outside the home.

Person Specification:

  • Educated and organised: excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to use initiative and accept responsibility.
  • Reliable and trustworthy: confidentiality, respect for individual choices, and commitment to the role.
  • Healthy and safe driver: minimum 12 months' clean UK driving licence, ability to plan and prepare healthy vegetarian food, and fluent spoken and written English.
  • Additional skills: basic DIY, basic knowledge of gardening, bike maintenance (for wheelchairs), and knowledge of bodywork practice.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
