Job Summary

The post-holder will provide a high-quality service to all patients within St George's Hospital and any patients who are reviewed and assessed as part of the Target Lung Health Check (TLHC) Programme undertaken in the West London area.

Main Duties
  • The TLHC CNS will attend the weekly screening review meeting at St George's and communicate outcomes to patients following the meeting.
  • They will work closely with TLHC colleagues across West London.
  • The TLHC nurse will work alongside the Lung Cancer Nursing Team to support potential lung cancer patients through diagnostics.
  • They will provide support to nurse-led follow-up clinics for people who have completed curative treatment for thoracic cancers at St George's.
About the Role

The post holder will have significant experience of communicating with people receiving bad news. The patient's experience will be a priority for you, with a strong emphasis on psychosocial care.

You will be supported by an experienced and committed team and have opportunities to develop nursing initiatives. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and project management skills, and be supported in submitting abstracts to conferences for presentation.

Requirements
  • Post registration module/qualification in relevant subject
  • Significant relevant experience (Resp/Lung Cancer/Cardiac/ICU)
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Evidence of independent and MDT working
