This role offers the chance to teach GCSE English in a highly supportive environment, with small class sizes (no more than 6 pupils) and the help of up to two teaching assistants.

Our school provides an inclusive and nurturing space for pupils with SEMH needs, including diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Attachment Needs. This is your opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people while working in a rewarding and dynamic sector of education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality GCSE English lessons within the national curriculum framework.
  • Pupil Support: Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each pupil, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on pupil progress, addressing any concerns and celebrating achievements.
  • School Activities: Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
  • Pupil Relationships: Build positive relationships with pupils to foster engagement and success in learning.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree-level education.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching GCSE English at the secondary level.
  • Special Education Experience: Experience working with pupils with SEMH or additional needs in an educational setting.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • DBS Check: Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting work.
What We Offer:
  • Career Growth: A workplace that prioritizes the emotional health and wellbeing of both pupils and staff.
  • Ongoing Development: Ongoing professional development opportunities to help you grow and excel.
  • Making a Difference: The chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people who deserve high-quality, tailored education.
  • Inclusive Team: A friendly, supportive, and inclusive team committed to improving outcomes for all pupils.
