About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Activity Coordinator to join our team at the Institute for Outdoor Learning. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering outdoor programmes and activities to individuals of all ages.

Job Purpose:

As an Outdoor Activity Coordinator, you will play a key role in the delivery of outdoor programmes, leading a range of activities including Abseiling, Aerial runway, Archery, Axe throwing, Climbing, Crate Challenge, Jacobs Ladder, Vertical Assault, Kayaking, Canoeing, Challenge and Woodland activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard of activity leadership and customer care across a range of outdoor activities for individuals aged 2 years old to adults, including those with special needs.
  • Fulfil the 'Hosting' role, linking with groups upon their arrival, ensuring everything is properly prepared, and ensuring their welfare for the duration of their visit.
  • Deliver evening entertainment activities and support duties in the dining room to ensure the smooth delivery of the programme.
  • Perform the role of duty manager on a rota basis.
  • Follow the Institute for Outdoor Learning's Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Safer Working practice policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in outdoor education or a similar environment.
  • An outstanding ability to communicate well and engage a wide range of people, including children, staff, and group leaders.
  • Ability and willingness to relate positively to customers (many of whom are children) and staff.

  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
