The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our permanent team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care for patients referred to the hospital.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.
  • Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff.
  • Engage in clinical governance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring continuous high-quality care.
  • Foster relationships with external stakeholders and maintain a network of professional contacts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.
  • Extensive experience in forensic psychiatry.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, provided by Suttons Manor.
  • The post holder will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.
  • Ability to work autonomously to agreed short and medium-term objectives.
