CrowdProperty Software Engineering Lead

CrowdProperty is a leading specialist property development lending platform, matching institutional and retail investors with SME property developers. We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Lead to join our team in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into scalable and robust technical solutions.
  • Assist with project delivery by designing and implementing new features to meet project requirements and enhance product functionality.
  • Define the technical direction of features, ensuring alignment with project objectives and architectural standards.
  • Update existing code by refining code quality, implementing best practices, and optimizing performance.
  • Identify performance improvements and delegate tasks efficiently to team members.
Requirements:
  • Passionate about modern software engineering best practices.
  • Knowledge of OO PHP and MVC.
  • Experience with the Laravel framework (or similar).
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
  • Previous experience developing RESTful web services and scalable applications.
  • Passion for User Experience (UX) and Customer Experience (CX).
  • Team player with a flexible attitude.
  • Knowledge of DevOps Principles – CI/CD, Automation, etc.
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience with Cloud Hosting (AWS).
  • Experience with financial systems and calculations relevant to a lending business.
