About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Client Advisor to join our team at abrdn. As a key member of our Private Client Services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality tax, trust, and succession planning advice and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax, trust, and succession planning advice and services to clients, including drafting documentation and client communications.
  • Manage a caseload of clients and files effectively and efficiently, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of high-quality advice and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent and efficient client service.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and attend networking events to develop relationships with potential client referrers.
  • Maximize the commercial value of existing clients by ensuring their needs are being fully met.
  • Adhere to all Departmental procedures and respond to requests for information and input from Senior Management Team members.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a joined-up service is delivered to clients and client relationships are maintained and strengthened.
  • Ensure client files are maintained in good order with a full audit trail and complete file progress reports timeously.
  • Undertake continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with relevant product, legislative, and technical changes.
Requirements
  • Member of the Law Society of Scotland with at least some directly relevant industry experience.
  • Ideal candidate will be training towards or have gained a directly relevant and recognized professional qualification such as TEP.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload, be proactive, take responsibility and ownership for actions, and adhere to strict deadlines and internal service levels.
  • Understanding of Regulatory requirements applicable to Private Client Services and incorporation of these into day-to-day working practices.
  • IT literate, particularly in Microsoft Office programs.
