FootballCo Group is a pioneering digital platform in the football industry, aiming to revolutionize the non-live football landscape globally. We are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our in-house legal team and contribute to our success.

">About the Role

We are offering a 12-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover, with potential for a longer-term permanent appointment. As a Senior Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing practical legal advice on commercial contracts across our global operations. Your primary duties will include:

  • Drafting and preparing documents, conducting contract reviews, and managing contract agreements.
  • Managing documents and our legal teams reporting systems.
  • Supporting our group Legal Counsel with a range of matters, focusing on commercial contracts.
  • Assisting with intellectual property cases, company secretarial matters, employment, and various legal issues across our group practice.
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and managing contract and commercial agreement reviews on various matters, from high-value strategic arrangements to day-to-day operational agreements and standard form contracts.
  • Conducting legal research on applicable regulations, laws, and legal requirements.
  • Preparing legal documents, such as contracts, correspondence with other parties, and legal pleadings when necessary.
  • Preparing reports for our group Legal Counsel and other employees.
  • Conducting meetings with internal clients, providing them with legal information, and taking instructions.
  • Monitoring changes to government guidelines or regulations and submitting reports on relevant changes.
  • Organizing legal files and administration of workflow and case management systems.
  • Attending to general administrative duties and basic clerical tasks.
  • Liaising with external legal and company secretarial services providers.
  • Providing support to the legal, finance, and HR teams in implementing new policies and procedures and operational objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales, with a training contract/pupillage/qualifying employment or exemption.
  • Solid knowledge of the law and legal system.
  • Experience using Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong legal research skills and familiarity with precedents and external legal resources.
  • Commercial awareness and willingness to participate in group training and know-how.
  • 2-3 years post-qualification experience, preferably in commercial contracts, with experience working in an in-house legal team.
  • Experience negotiating terms of commercial agreements from a B2B perspective.
  • Familiarity with global privacy laws, especially GDPR.
