Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter Specialist to join our team at Legal & General. As a Mortgage Underwriter Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and processing applications for medium to high-risk cases, ensuring acceptability of risk and liability, and authorizing applications in line with Group Service Levels and underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and process applications for medium to high-risk cases, ensuring acceptability of risk and liability.
  • Interact with customers to gather information required to process and assess applications.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and monitor the standard exhibited by Junior Underwriters and Underwriting Administrators.
  • Analyze underwriting data to identify trends and produce reports or findings.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.
  • Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML), 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF), Data Protection requirements.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft.
