About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Craftsperson to join our Estates Engineering Maintenance Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of maintenance programmes that contribute to the Trust's objectives.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking works relating to the maintenance and repairs of Trust properties, equipment, grounds, and gardens. This will involve ensuring compliance with Statutory requirements, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM), Trust Policies, and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, public, and staff.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ level 3 equivalent in mechanical engineering services, or an advanced modern apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering. You will also need to have relevant mechanical or electrical engineering experience with demonstrable experience appropriate to the requirements of the role.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ level 3 equivalent in mechanical engineering services
  • Advanced modern apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering experience

Desirable Criteria

  • Possess demonstrable knowledge of NHS procedures for the operational maintenance of acute hospital sites
  • ONC/HNC qualification with structured apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Leadership qualification
