Job Overview

Excelcare Holdings is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at our Waterhall Care Home in Milton Keynes. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, working closely with our care team to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times.
  • Work closely with the Home Manager and ancillary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring regular updates and reviews.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ.
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia is desirable.
  • Previous experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is desirable, with full training and support provided.
