We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our team at the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a Clinical Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical data for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract, analyze, and accurately code clinical information from patient records using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Classifications.
- Produce consistent, accurate, complete, and timely coded clinical data for use by the Trust's Finance Department and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate coding and data quality.
- Participate in ongoing coding training and testing to meet National Standards and Trust requirements.
- Communicate complex coding rules to clinical coding staff, medical, clinical, and administrative staff, and external agencies.
- National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) UK or working towards it.
- Experience of using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications in an acute hospital setting.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proven ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams at all levels of NHS Acute Trusts structure.
