Teaching Music in a Dynamic Environment

We are seeking an experienced Instrumental Music Instructor to join our team, teaching bagpipe and chanter to pupils across various schools in Edinburgh.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and friendly service, providing excellent learning experiences for pupils. The successful candidate will have experience in instrumental teaching, with a sound knowledge of the current curriculum, preparing pupils for SQA and external exams, as well as working with groups and ensembles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach instrumental music classes to pupils in various schools
  • Prepare pupils for SQA and external exams
  • Work with groups and ensembles to develop musical skills

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in instrumental teaching
  • A sound knowledge of the current curriculum
  • The ability to work with groups and ensembles

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £35,000 - £46,000 (pro-rata for part-time), with hours of 19.60 per week (0.56FTE, 2 days and a morning). This post also offers a range of benefits, including membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to staff training and development opportunities.
