Job Description

The Role: As a Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective care to children, young people, and families. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing psychiatric assessments and treatment for children and young people admitted to the Darwin Centre and Home Treatment Team.
  • Supporting the discharge of patients by working flexibly with the Darwin Centre and Home Treatment Team.
  • Collaborating with team colleagues to address safeguarding needs and ensure compliance with local and national best practice standards.
  • Participating in clinical governance activities, including prescription management, care planning documentation, and outcome monitoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • GMC registration.
  • AC status and be under S12.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health principles and practices.
