The Role: Logistics Operations Lead
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Operations Lead to join our team in Carlisle. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport department, meeting performance targets while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational plans for the depot's transport activities, optimizing resource allocation and cost management.
- Lead and mentor a team of drivers, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Ensure strict adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements related to transportation, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and documentation.
- Monitor transport performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of transport operations within the overall business strategy.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced logistics environment.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, driver hours rules, and safety protocols.
