About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Haemoglobinopathies Specialist Nurse to join our team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with Haemoglobinopathy disorders and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing team in the implementation of the specialist service specification for Haemoglobinopathy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people with Haemoglobinopathy disorders and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to provide patient-focused Haemoglobinopathy services, including the initiation of different forms of treatment for children and young people and their families in various settings.
  • Provide specialist education and training to children/young people, their families, and carers, as well as other professional colleagues.
  • Ensure the implementation of the specialist service specification for Haemoglobinopathy, working closely with the Lead Nurse.
Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of education, training, or experience.
  • Relevant clinical experience at Band 5 or above.
