Job Title: Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist nursing support to adults with Haemoglobinopathy disorders, ensuring the highest quality of care and promoting patient-centered care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist nursing support to adults with Haemoglobinopathy disorders, ensuring the highest quality of care and promoting patient-centered care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient-focused Haemoglobinopathy services, initiating different forms of treatment for adults and their families in various settings.
  • Develop and promote working partnerships between the Trust and academic staff at local Universities involved in the provision of nursing and multi-professional programmes of education.
  • Act as a visible, accessible, and assertive clinical expert to whom staff and users can turn to for assistance, expert advice, and support.
  • Manage a delegated caseload of patients, delivering individualized and personalized direct patient care.
  • Support the Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse Manager in managing the allocated resources to ensure cost-effective usage of essential supplies.
Requirements:
  • Relevant clinical experience at Band 5 or above.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience within the area of Haemoglobinopathy.
  • Evidence of autonomous practice.
  • Holds an NMC pin.
  • Evidence of post-registration education and development to Postgraduate level or equivalent level of education, training, or experience.
