Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist chefs in the preparation and cooking of food as required, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure all equipment, crockery, and cutlery are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.
  • Receive and check deliveries of food and provisions, accurately recording and accounting for all items.
  • Support cleaning, periodic cleaning, and deep cleaning tasks as required, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure all food is handled in accordance with our Food Safety and Quality Management System, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols.
  • Remove waste promptly and dispose of it in the correct waste containers, adhering to our site waste management plan.
  • Perform tasks efficiently and effectively, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
  • Participate in HACCP team activities as required, contributing to the development and implementation of our food safety protocols.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and codes of practice.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training, including off-site activities, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Store raw materials and packaging materials in designated areas, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Carry out projects and tasks as requested by the Unit Manager or Chef Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Embody and actively promote our Zero Harm culture, prioritizing the safety and well-being of colleagues and clients.
Requirements:
  • No formal education is required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
