Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant to join our team at a Schools Trust in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, staff canteens, and kitchen corridors
  • Washing of all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff
  • Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk-through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry
  • Communicating effectively with all staff

Requirements:

  • Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment
  • Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
  • Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety
  • Good organisational skills
