Structural Design Engineer - Fixing Systems

Mitchell Maguire is a specialist Construction Recruitment Consultancy, dealing exclusively with Construction Jobs, Construction vacancies and Specification positions within the construction sector.

We are currently seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer - Fixing Systems to join our team. As a Structural Design Engineer - Fixing Systems, you will be responsible for dealing with a high-end range of manufactured fixing systems, responding to engineering enquiries made by M&E contractors & consultants, carrying out structural analysis and calculations, producing BIM models & CAD drawings appropriate to the enquiries, ensuring that projects and designs are compliant with standards and regulations, building relationships with clients to encourage repeat business, and working on projects ranging in value from £1k to £250k.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Dealing with a high-end range of manufactured fixing systems
  2. Responding to engineering enquiries made by M&E contractors & consultants
  3. Carrying out structural analysis and calculations
  4. Producing BIM models & CAD drawings appropriate to the enquiries
  5. Ensuring that projects and designs are compliant with standards and regulations
  6. Building relationships with clients to encourage repeat business
  7. Working on projects ranging in value from £1k to £250k
Requirements:
  1. Structural Engineering degree level qualification or equivalent
  2. Sound working experience with CAD & BIM Modelling software
  3. Working experience within the construction industry with a bias to the M&E market sector (preferred)
  4. Consideration for a graduate with relevant qualification
  5. Proactive, initiative, 'think on your feet' approach
  6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  7. Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  8. IT literate (Microsoft Office)
