Structural Design Engineer

CV Library is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team in St Austell, Cornwall. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement structural design solutions for M&E related enquiries.
  • Utilize software such as CAD, Revit, AutoCAD, and RSTAB for structural design projects.
  • Draft CAD drawings for conceptual and construction works.
  • Creatively model mechanical and electrical supports using 3D plant software.
  • Structurally calculate steel framing solutions using RSTAB software.
  • BIM model to create building models with the required supports.
  • Solve support design problems.
  • Maintain excellent customer-oriented phone communication.
  • Conduct site visits to assess build progress and address design issues.
  • Assist with engineering administration tasks (workload planning, administration, prefabrication quality checks, etc.).
  • Continually learn about the products, its software plugins, and libraries.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Utilise Project Management skills to oversee project milestones.
  • Support other members of the team with training & review.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, and RSTAB.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical & electrical building systems.
  • A degree in engineering.
  • Understanding of engineering with bolted connections & modular steelwork.
  • Previous use of BIM modelling.
  • Experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
