The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled senior advertising lawyer to join our Global Legal EU team based in London. This team provides commercial support to multiple business units within TikTok and its sister apps, including advertising sales teams and associated marketing, creative, trading, and partnership teams.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to ad sales, commercial incentives, and ad content creation.
  • Create templates, resources, and training materials, and negotiate commercial agreements supporting multiple stakeholders across TikTok.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and procedures, and develop and implement strategies to scale and standardize the use of legal resources.
  • Partner with international legal colleagues to review, update, and create global terms, and ensure a scaled approach to their implementation and acceptance by clients.
  • Coordinate the legal response to advertiser questionnaires, including data privacy and regulatory developments.
  • Collaborate with global, regional, and local cross-functional teams to provide legal input on strategy and client queries.
  • Manage a team, ensuring effective allocation of legal resources, and act as an escalation point for challenging projects.
Requirements
  • UK senior lawyer qualified in the commercial, media, and technology or advertising division of a leading private practice law firm.
  • Understanding of advertising technology, the digital advertising ecosystem, and a firm grasp of privacy issues in this environment and a strong grounding in GDPR.
  • Strong commercial acumen across a range of advertising matters, and be comfortable taking commercial decisions and working closely with senior sales, marketing, and creative leads.
  • Experience of working in highly matrixed organizations and in an international business is a plus, as are language skills.
