Fabrication and Painting Technician

A leading manufacturer in the automotive sector is seeking an experienced Paint Prepper to join their team in the outskirts of Maidstone. As a Paint Preparation Operative, you'll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality finishes on fabricated parts, collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve timely delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare fabricated parts for wet painting, adhering to precise quality control standards
- Utilize power tools for drilling, grinding, and sanding component surfaces, maintaining optimal performance
- Apply masking techniques to safeguard against shot blast damage and paint ingress
- Coordinate with team members to handle components efficiently through blast equipment and washing stations
- Ensure thorough cleaning and degreasing of components before painting
- Oversee daily monitoring of blast profiles, making adjustments as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace through regular housekeeping duties
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and increase productivity
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience as a Paint Prepper or equivalent role
- Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge of fabrication and painting processes and techniques
Compensation and Benefits
The selected candidate can expect a competitive salary of £24,669.48 – £29,285.64 per annum, depending on experience. The company also offers opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization.
