Job Summary
We are a leading blockchain technology company, Nethermind, seeking an experienced Senior PCB Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance PCBs for advanced biometric systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop PCB Layouts: Create high-resolution imaging PCBs with secure data handling capabilities.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineers: Work with electrical engineers to define component placement, routing, and signal integrity, ensuring robust security measures.
- Implement Security Features: Design and implement secure boot mechanisms, encryption, and anti-tamper protections in PCB design.
- Conduct Signal Integrity and Thermal Analysis: Ensure PCB designs meet performance requirements and maintain reliability under operational conditions.
- Generate and Maintain PCB Design Documentation: Create and maintain schematics, layout files, assembly drawings, and testing procedures.
- Coordinate with Fabrication and Assembly Partners: Work with fabrication and assembly partners to ensure PCBs are manufactured and assembled according to design specifications and security standards.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Design Issues: Analyze and resolve design issues during prototype development and production.
- Stay Informed about Advancements: Stay up-to-date with advancements in PCB design technology, biometric systems, and security practices.
Requirements
- 5+ Years of Experience: In PCB design and layout, with a focus on high-resolution imaging systems and secure designs.
- Proficiency with PCB Design Tools: Experience with tools such as Autodesk Eagle, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar.
- Strong Understanding of Electronic Components: Knowledge of electronic components, circuit design, and signal integrity principles relevant to imaging and sensor applications.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT): Ability to ensure design quality and testability.
- Familiarity with PCB Fabrication Processes: Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and assembly techniques, including considerations for secure and precise sensor integration.
- Ability to Perform Thermal and Electrical Analysis: Ability to optimize PCB performance in biometric systems.
- Experience with Gerber File Generation: Experience working with PCB manufacturing and assembly vendors.
- Detail-Oriented with Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address and resolve design challenges effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Flexible or Rigid-Flex PCB Design: Knowledge of flexible or rigid-flex PCB design for compact or integrated systems.
- Knowledge of RF PCB Design and EMI/EMC Considerations: Understanding of RF PCB design and EMI/EMC considerations relevant to sensor systems.
- Familiarity with Mechanical CAD Tools: Knowledge of mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for integration with device enclosures.
- Experience in Automated Design Tools: Experience with automated design tools for signal integrity and thermal analysis.
- Understanding of Biometric Systems: Knowledge of biometric systems and their specific PCB design requirements.
