Job Summary

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Supervisor to join our team. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of all accounting records for our European and Saudi Arabian offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review entity accounts, working closely with the Accounting Manager - Europe, Director of Finance - Europe, and the Firmwide Tax function.
  • Review revenue and balance sheet reconciliations, analyze and correct discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries and coordinate with teams within the Finance Department to ensure accurate GL coding.
  • Lead and participate in complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the Finance team.
  • Meet accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Ensure all VAT regulations are adhered to and prepare VAT Returns.
  • Lead and support HMRC initiatives and changes, including Making Tax Digital and the Basis Period Reform.
  • Streamline and enhance processes within the department.
  • Act as a backup for other team members during periods of absence.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

Requirements

  • Proven and progressive experience in a fast-paced, challenging professional services environment.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Experience and knowledge in European and Cross Border tax is preferred.
  • Demonstrated high level of diplomacy, confidentiality, and excellent judgment in navigating sensitive issues.
  • Strong Excel knowledge and experience with 3E and Chrome River is an advantage.
